Christmas Bunnykins [sold]

Bunnikins Christmas porridge bowlRoyal Doulton ‘Bunnykins’ Santa Claus porridge bowl
made in England, c.1940s

Bunnykins pottery is very collectible, and I have resisted collecting any to date- having grown up eating from these plates and drinking from Bunnykins mugs [and even, I confess allowing my own child to sup from Bunnykins pottery]- until I found this fantastic Santa Claus porridge bowl.

The running bunnies around the rim are worn- attesting to much use [obviously the bowl wasn’t just bought out for Christmas.] And I love the graphic- Santa Bunny, with his labelled sack [in case you mistook him for some ordinary bunny] and the bunny in bed- with one eye open- in on the joke.

The bowl isn’t signed by Barbara Vernon- which adds to its value- but it is rare- and the Santa scene is wonderful.

Buy now for Christmas! The bowl is for sale: $AUD65

  1. Despite being an adult I still find crockery with rabbits on appealing… although who doesn’t like bunnys? I have to confess to buying a bowl like this recently, but it was a bargain in a charity shop so technically it was an act of charity, not because I wanted to take the bowl home and use it…!
