70s childhood

70s childhood70s childhood

This is what childhood looked like in the 70s:

  • Leave it to Beaver, A Little Golden Book, published 1974
  • Fisher Price chickens, 1976
  • Tomy Toy wind-up crawling baby, 1977
  • Child’s play sunglasses, 1975.

All these items for me are totally aspirational; I wasn’t able to own them as a child. But they also make me laugh in a mocking, post-70s kind of way…they seem so hokey in a world where children now play on iPads.

This is an ode to a 1970s childhood.
