Fiesta Ware wine goblets
made in Australia c.1960s
Happy Mardi Gras! It is if you are in Sydney at the moment. Hot on the heels of St Valentine’s Day -and quite appropriately too- it’s Mardi Gras.
For all your rainbow-coloured needs, this set of harlequin anodised wine goblets -made by Fiesta! Ware – has never been used. Kept under wraps since the 60s, these goblets are now out loud and proud.
The set of six goblets is for sale: $AUD90
As a child I had small cups made of anodized metal (I think aluminium, but I don’t remember). They had colors like these and where made in the GDR.
you were clearly a sophisticated child- with your harlequin wine goblets!
These are really beautiful! Mardi Gras won’t happen in Louisiana, USA until the 4th of March! The shop where I work is busy, busy, busy making costumes. 🙂
thanks kittlesfamily – i think the fiesta ware is kinda fab. will you post any of your costumes on your blog? i imagine they are works of art…
I’ve made masks this year. And most of what I make for us to wear has a costume feel about it. I post pictures of as many things as I can. The shop where I work part time doesn’t allow us to share photos of the fancy costumes until after all the festivities are completed or I would. Some of them are really super!
